We’re Natasha & Rick, if you don’t know us. Rick was born in a border town just across from Matamoros, Mexico and Natasha’s love for authentic Mexican cuisine came from the decade she lived in Chicago. We hope that you enjoy your time in our little oasis. It’s a place to have fun and escape; we are simply bringing Mexico to you. We also own the restaurant next door, Frida’s.
If you’re unfamiliar with the story of Diego and Frida, here’s a little summary. These two Mexican artists, Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, married in 1929. Their relationship was intense. They had affairs, divorced, married again, partied and entertained. Our journey somewhat reflects their own. We had no idea that Diego’s was going to take two years to complete, but here we are, opening in the middle of a pandemic! As the weeks go by our space will come together a little more as we are still waiting on a few shipments, so please visit us often! We plan on being a staple in the neighborhood, just like Momo’s was for over a decade.
Due to the unprecedented circumstances, we have taken additional steps for your safety. We follow all county regulations and recommendations from the CDC. We have also installed Ultra-violet C air scrubbers, so our air is sanitized. Masks are required if you are away from your seat.
