Alison Bozarth

Alison Bozarth is an Illustrator that excels in focusing on detail. Her subject matter often revolves around natural themes while playing with exaggerations of scale and color. Her “Giant Series” depicts beautiful and exotic animals against fluid, abstract backgrounds that imagines a world much larger than we give it credit for. Her “Technicolor Travelers” explores a bright expression of personality in the dispositions of its subjects. In everything she creates, she enforces the age old notion that things aren’t always what they seem and that there is always more to the story that can be found by looking deeper.

Rum Drum Duo

LIVE from 12:30 – 3:00pm

Two, 45 minute sets

THE RUM DRUM DUO ARE:

Mat Wilson • guitar, vocals
Ryan Koenig • harmonica, washboard, mandolin, vocals
Joey Glynn • upright bass, vocals

“The Americana music genre is painted with a very broad brush and this band has paint on every bristle” —No Depression

Since forming in 2006, the Rum Drum Ramblers have been honing their original St Louis string band blues in barrooms, clubs, street corners, listening rooms, and festivals.  Powerful dual lead vocals by Mat Wilson and Ryan Koenig and the ever stylish slap bass of Joey Glynn weave through a tapestry of syncopated resonator guitar, screaming harmonica, mandolin, fiddle, bones, and washboard.  This trio of multi-instrumentalists have a refreshing groove that swings at a perfectly danceable pace.

The Rum Drum Ramblers have netted awards such as “Best Blues Band” and “Best Blues Album” over the years, but that only begins to scratch the surface of what these individuals have accomplished in the formative early years of their careers, including performing around the globe, contributing to Grammy nominated albums, and sharing the stage with many cherished roots music stalwarts.  Some may remember Koenig and Glynn from their decade long run with Pokey LaFarge, which yielded memorable appearances on Late Night with David Letterman, The Conan O’Brien Show, The Marty Stuart Show, Prairie Home Companion, UKs’ Jools Holland Hootenanny, and guest features in Disney’s “The Lone Ranger”, Jack White’s “American Epic” mini-series, and Jack White’s “Blunderbuss”.  One of the final proteges of Henry Townsend, guitarist Mat Wilson is a living link to the origins of St Louis blues.

Now as the re-energized Rum Drum Ramblers return to the studio to record their first album since 2011’s “Mean Scene”, their road-warrior chops shine through in their playing and their song writing glistens with the depth of experience.  Their music both timeless and exciting, the band plays with sincerity and respect to the original blues forbearers.

Giuseppe & Rodrigo

LIVE from 12-4pm

Giuseppe & Rodrigo are two friends from different ends of the world who met here in STL playing music together.

Giuseppe & Rodrigo started playing music together in late 2018 after meeting on the St. Louis jam circuit, but they’ve each been in love with the blues for years. Since then they have been bringing their passion and energy to various venues across St. Louis and the greater metro area, including the STL Blues Society Road to Memphis, Gaslight Lounge’s Songwriter Showcase, and The National Blues Museum. Giuseppe & Rodrigo’s first single “Go Back To Bed” is featured on the St. Louis Blues Society’s 19 in 19 compilation album, and their debut full length album “Met At The Mississippi,” was just released in August of 2020. A Giuseppe & Rodrigo performance is a journey through the multitude of blues styles, including originals, blues classics, and some new bluesy acoustic experiments.

Giuseppe & Rodrigo

The two have a blast sharing their love of the blues, in all its acoustic forms, and promise you will to!

“Met At The Mississippi” can be found anywhere music is sold or streaming, including your local STL record stores.

Artist Lineup on Saturday, September 26:

Ben Angelly

Portrait artist Ben Angelly will be doing a portrait of Ruth Bader Ginsburg from 12-6pm on Leland Ave. Earlier this year, Angelly painted both George Floyd and Breonna Taylor near Which Wich Superior Sandwich Shop on Delmar.

Nina Schatzkamer Miller

Nina Schatzkamer Miller makes brightly colored kiln-fired glass art. Sheets of glass are cut, shaped and fired in her home studio kiln and made into many different objects. Most of it is functional art such as platters, bowls and plates; some is wearable, like jewelry and hair accessories; other pieces are purely decorative or whimsical.

Austin Miller

Austin Miller is an emerging ceramic artist with an emphasis on form over function; making pieces without excessive ornamentation. Pieces are wheel thrown, have carved features, and there’s a synergy and cooperation between the carving and the form. The aesthetic quality comes from the shape and proportion, as opposed to how it’s decorated. His study of the Chinese language has influenced his art and an Asian influence can often be seen in both form and finish.

Kim Phillips

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Kim has worked in a variety of media through the years: graphite, pen-and-ink, charcoal, paper, mosaics and painting. Her papercut art has focused mainly on Judaica, with themes concentrated in Jewish texts from the Torah, Talmud, and midrash. Her work has been created for collectors and synagogues worldwide and has been exhibited in venues from Jerusalem to New Orleans, Knoxville, and Nashville.

Jasmine Raskas

Jasmine completed her BLA at The University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2016 while enrolled in a 6 year accelerated medical program. After being diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos during college, she began her healing journey through art, which included spending time at Artists First where she now works as arts facilitator. Since then, her paintings have been shown across the St. Louis and Kansas City regions, including several solo shows, a national print feature, and a mural at UMKC. In addition, Jasmine has been featured by Ladue News, Gesso Magazine, KDHX, and the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Aside from visual art, she also writes, teaches and works in all areas where creativity and wellness overlap. Most recently she’s established a life coaching practice, with an emphasis on creativity and wellness, sharing the power of imagination and self-expression as they relate to individual empowerment and freedom. In her free time she enjoys reading, spending time in nature, creating, researching strange things, and meeting new people.
