Project Overview
The Mannequins Project is a public art installation competition featuring mannequins displayed throughout University City business districts for three weeks. Local and national artists/designers team up with U City merchants to adorn mannequins using recycled materials in support of a green lifestyle. For the past 14 years this project is the highlight at the beginning of summer.
Public Art Installation Competition
This year we are celebrating 15 years and our theme is RECYCLE NOW AND FOREVER! Artists/designers are challenged to create a garment from sustainable recycled materials inspired by the business they are representing.
These mannequins will be highlighted by Channel 5 Show Me St. Louis, Channel 2 Studio STL, Channel 4, Town & Style Magazine and Social Media. We expect this public art installation to generate a great deal of media.
Merchants have the opportunity to sponsor a mannequin and receive name recognition on the signage visible by over 50,000 pedestrians in the business districts each day. You do not need to have a store to participate, you can donate to the *Dorothy Davis Scholarship Fund.

- One Mannequin, Artist/Designer & Installation = $300
